Just a quick post to let the UK peeps know that the Whimsy Stamps Peony Die set is now up on Noor Design's website here - Peony Flower Die

Happy Birthday

I’m. So. Excited!!  Here’s the set of Peony flower dies I designed for Whimsy Stamps that are now released!!  I’m giving a set away so scroll down to the bottom of the post.

And heres the card I made to show using only the dies from this set to make three different types of flowers.

Bev Rochester Whimsy Happy Birthday to You & Peony Die

The flowers are made from white Foamiran which, once coloured with pigment/chalk inks and gently heated made for such a pretty display.  The leaves are also from the die set and are cut from patterened paper.

I’ve used the sentiment from the new Happy Birthday to You stamp set.

Whimsy Stamps May Release–day 2

I’m back with two cards featuring stamps from the Whimsy Stamps  May release.  I don’t think I’ve seen stamps specifically aimed at sympathy cards for the loss of a pet, these are very different from the run of the mill.

I kept the cards simple, although I did manage to sneak flowers on the first one!  I used the Rainbow Bridge stamp set for this card.

The focal point was really easy to create, I stamped the bridge onto watercolour paper with Weathered Wood distress ink then lightly spread the colour with a damp paintbrush to give a watercolour effect.  I added some grass detail using a distress ink marker.

My second card is a total and unashamed case of a few cards and ideas I saw on Pinterest.  I’ve used the Fur Ever In Our Hearts stamp set for this one.

I glittered the layers of the wings with Distress Glitter.  The bone tag is a template I got off the internet, I painted that and the heart with silver paint and once try stamped on them with Stazon ink.

Pop back tomorrow for another card featuring the Peony Die Set that I designed.  I’ll be doing a give away for that die set tomorrow as well.

World’s Best Husband and 1 of 2 give aways this week

The Whimsy Stamps May 2017 release party has started over on the Whimsy Stamps and Inspirations Facebook group. Pop across to join in with games, fun, and a chance to win Whimsy prizes too.

We are releasing new red rubber images, clear stamp sets and dies.  Everything is available here, so do pop across to see all of the new stamping goodness.

I have two die sets to give away this week, the first one is a doggy themed one so scroll down to the end of the post to see the set.  To enter (open to all), just leave a comment and I will draw a winner on Friday.

My card today is male themed – I shy away from making cards for blokes, I need my flowers lol.  But I had such fun with this one, I love a challenge!  I think for me, the secret to blokey cards seeing as I can’t overload on the flowers is to use layers to add interest, which I did with this card.  I started off by stamping the stitched border from the In Stitches stamp set around the bottom layer of paper, then added the wire effect stamp from the Lovely Lavender stamp set.  I then layered up a banner with a strip of measuring tape ribbon wrapped around.  I hit up the stitching stamp again on this layer.  I thn stamped the sentiment from the new For the Men stamp set, and finished off with some stars die cut from the Pierced Stars die set.  A few screw brads and a little fob watch and job done.

And here’s a pic of the first give away of the week

As I said, just leave a comment to be in the draw.

Back tomorrow with more new release cards.

Celebrate and a sneak peek at a die set I designed for Whimsy Stamps

I decided to go with a bit of a mixed media look on this week’s card.  Stamping and stencilling really made this gorgeous paper by 13@rts pop.  I stamped the grungy circles from the Whimsy Stamps Vintage Backgrounds set then stamped around the edges with  the straight stitch stamp from the In Stitches set.  The sentiment is die cut from the Word Die Set – Smiles, Happy and Celebrate using a gun metal mirri card.

I made the Foamiran flowers and added touches of Distress Glitter to the edges.  I designed this die set which comprises of 3 layers of the peony flower and the leaf spray that I’ve used on this card, except for the small white flowers that are from a different die set.

The Peony die set is being released next week.  I’ve had quite the play with it and managed to make quite a few different flowers from just the one set, so watch this space for lots more Foamiran flowers in the coming week, as well as a giveaway of this set to one of my visitors next week.

The mask that I used on this card is also by 13@rts.  Love the grid pattern.

The butterfly is from a sheet that I got from the Range.  IIRC is’t by Anitas.

The doily die is one I picked up from eBay.

For my friend

Please scroll down to the next post for the candy winners details.

Back to my girly pink today, and love it teamed with grey.  I used the fabulous Doodled Doily Die from Whimsy Stamps that’s peeking out from behind the flowers that are handmade from Foamiran.  I also used my all time favourite sentiment stamp and die set from Whimsy Stamps - Bold Banners and Bold Banners Dies.  I stamped the sentiment onto grey card using Versamark ink then heat embossed with superfine white embossing powder

I really do love how easy the foam is to work with.  I started out with white foam and coloured the die cut flowers with chalk inks (Versacolor).  All the flowers on this card are handmade, not a bought flower in sight.
I also heat distressed the organza ribbon that’s peeking out from behind the flowers.  LOVE this effect so hard!

The delicious papers are Studio75 Alice’s Dreams from Scrap & Craft.  The bottle is from a pack of ten that I picked up for £1 from The Range, I tipped out the sparkly gems and replaced with some pearl beads.  The frame is also from the £1 shelf at The Range.

I machine stitched the papers for a change.

Have a great weekend

Penguin Prezzie

I’m back to penguins again, I love these  little cuties so much I can’t leave them alone lol.  I’ve used Penguin Prezzie for today’s card, teamed with a sentiment from the Vintage Birthday Frames stamp set.

Copic colours used are:

Penguin: C9, 7, 5, 3 – BV20, C1, 0, 00 – R20, 00 – YR27, 24, 31, 30
Melon:  R22, 20, 00, 000, 0000
Teal: BG57, 32, 11, 10

The paper is a My Mind’s Eye pad, I have boxes of these that have never seen the light of day and I’ve really no idea why!  The colours are so pretty.

I die cut a Memory Box butterfly from card and vellum.  Love the look this gives.

Have a fabulous bank holiday weekend, and do pop back soon as I've a large stamping giveaway starting on the weekend.  I found a box of 36 stamps and stamp sets still in their packaging that need new homes, so plan on giving them all away in one draw to three winners.  See ya then :)

Special Wishes

Back to my flowery, shabby cards with this one today.  I’m really loving this style at the moment.

I got this Rose Avenue paper pack a few weeks back, I’m in total love!  The little tag is from the pack, I used two seperate words from the Whimsy Stamps Painted Sayings stamp set to make up the sentiment I wanted to fit on the tag.  Annnnd … see that gorgeous white flourish behind the leaves – well, that’s the fabulous Cherry Blossom Panel die!!  Yep, I just cut off the border and voila, another way to use that die.

I made the clock using a silicone mould and a hot glue gun, once it was set I gave it a couple coats of white paint then dirtied it up with some Pumice Stone Distress Inkbev-rochester-whimsy-painted-sayings-peach1

Love that panel die converted into a flourish!

The leaf die is one I picked up on Ebay.

Have a great weekend!

Pretty Big Flowers

A somewhat different card today, also featuring the new Whimsy Stamps release.  I’ve used two clear stamp sets – Pretty Big Flowers and Vintage Birthday Frames.  I also used the fab-u-las In Stitches stamp set to stamp some stitching using Pumice Stone Distress Ink around the edges of the paper, way quicker than stitching for real!

I stamped and heat embossed the flowers using gold embossing powder several times, then watercoloured using Victorian Velvet, Aged Mahogany and Bundled Sage Distress Inks.  I forgot just how much I love colouring flower stamps, and using watercolour mediums makes them a doddle to colour.

I also heat embossed the sentiment after stamping on to a die cut oval.

A bit of lace and a few swirly die cuts and job done.  A really quick and simple card to make Smile

Have a great Easter weekend!

Cherry Blossom Panel

I’m back with my second card featuring gorgeous goodies from the April Whimsy Stamps release.  I don’t recall making a sympathy card before, so this is a first for me and the new Cherry Blossom panel die was perfect for what I had in mind.   I teamed this up with one of the new Sympathy Heartfelt & Condolences word dies and the new Deepest Sympathy stamp set.

I adhered the lace panels on to a sheet of paper from The Promise pad.  I wanted a patterned design but not one that would fight with the lace and I think that most of the papers from this pad would’ve worked perfect for what I had in mind.  I adhered the sympathy die cut onto a banner from the Card Builder Many Thanks die set and stamped on the sentiment (thank goodness for the Misti, thats all I’m saying!)

The bird is one I made using a silicone mould and hot glue which, once set, I coated a couple of times with white acrylic paint.

For a girl who steers away from sympathy cards, I’m really pleased at how this one turned out.  I think this panel is going to be so very useful for so many styles and types of cards – thanks for listening to my plea Denise Winking smile

Back tomorrow with another card.

Penguin’s Birthday

The Whimsy Stamps April 2017 release party has started over on the Whimsy Stamps and Inspirations Facebook group. Pop across to join in with games, fun, and a chance to win Whimsy prizes too.

We are releasing new red rubber images, clear stamp sets and dies.  Everything is available here, so do pop across to see all of the new stamping goodness.  I’ve popped a video link to the March release showcase at the end of the post, it’s just a couple of minutes long and worth a peek to see all the fab new goodies.

I can’t help it, I’m totally and utterly in love with these little cuties, so hot on the heels of my last penguin card … I’ve another one for you #sorrynotsorry

This is Penguin Birthday, which I’ve teamed up with the two new word sets of dies that were released today - Birthday Wishes and Magical and also Smiles Happy and Celebrate.  I’ve also added in the cutest little cupcake from the Shaker Builder Sweetest Birthday die set.

Coloured with copic markers, I used:

Penguin: C9, 7, 5, 3 – BV20, C1, 0, 00 – R20, 00 – YR27, 24, 31, 30
Orange: YR02, 02, 00, 000
Teal: BG57, 32, 11, 10

The papers are My Minds Eye – Tangerine.  Love that although they are bright colours, they are still subdued and don’t overwhelm the stamped image.

Back tomorrow with another new reveal Smile
